Ok, so I was vs some uber lame me/n fastcasting bspam trash with some uber lame hexway trash (yay for broken HA) and the mesmers took no damage from soul bind when they healed?

Surely this is a glitch as "life steal" HEALS the target, and soulbuind triggers when the target is healed and does damage too them?

Healing is a specific mechanic. Health gain and life steal are not healing.
Soul Bind and Scourge Healing trigger on the healing mechanic only.

Some skills have the word "heal" in their description, but actually count as health gain as far as Soul Bind is concerned (such as Aura of Restoration), but otherwise only skills with the word heal in them are affected by SB and SH.
